I’d rather have honor
Rather than serve,
Rather have splendor
Instead of a nerve.
I’d more die on my feet
Than serve on my knees,
I’d rather die neat
Than emperors please.
Just give me my sword
Instead of a platter,
I give you my word
My self I don’t flatter.
I’d rather die brave
Than live as a coward,
I’d rather my stave
Than flatter out words.
I’d rather have honor
Honor and fame,
Rather a goner
It’s not all the same.
I’ve heard of a man
A warrior brave,
Never he ran
From army or knave.
His Tittle was Cossack
His homeland Ukraine,
He never turned back
To fetch for his bane.
When the Turks came a ‘conquerin
Europe n’ all,
Just look at the faith within
Muslims are all.
But when come to his home
His home land that is,
They wanted the throne
He said” hear this”
You’ll not take our Homeland
Our seas or our fields,
You’ll not get to where I stand
Our lives we won’t yield.
they replied:
If you surrender now
You’ll serve us as slaves,
Our yokes we’ll bestow
Instead of our staves.
The choice is yours,
The Cossacks replied with their saying:
I’d more die on my feet
Then serve on our knees,
I’d rather die neat
Than Sultans to please.
The two armies charge at each other!
This grat famous battle
Did not last for long,
The Turks on their sadles
Had not stood so strong!
The Cossacks defeated
Victory was theirs,
The Turks had retreated
For fear f the snares.
The Cossacks wouldn’t miss
Their chance for revenge,
Their wives they would kiss
And take up their cahllenge.
The Turks on their ships
Cossacks on their Chaikas,
The words on their lips
Slaves they won’t make us.
A day and a night
Arrived they at last,
The Turks on their flight
From the Cossackan blast.
The first ships to shore
The Turkish that is,
Recruited some more
Soldiers of his.
They stood like a wall
Their shields their own size,
Defending were all
Some stupid some wise.
AT THE COSSACK SHIPS :
Men,This battl might not be won,we may not live another hour, day, minute,or moment. We may not even live to ever see our homeland Ukraine…But Histoty will know, that we,the Cossacks,as free men, chose to FIGHT!!!Lets do it!
The first of the ships
Docked on the shore,
They broke up their whips
Only swords they would store.
A battle ensues
A bloody one,true,
Scars and a bruise
Casualties not few
The battle was won
The cossacks defeated,
Their army so strong
The Turks they had beaten.
But that wasn’t all
Of course not my friend,
They still had to thrall
Their burning revenge.
They burned down their portal
Their main one at that,
They left no lives at all
Ponder on that.
